Airy is the main antagonist of the 2020 animated web-series, ONE.
He is a sentient lantern who has the ability to transport other people into his plane where they compete in an object show of his creation named ONE. While he appears to be a host who enjoys competition, he ends up being responsible for many immoral acts that traumatized those who became his victims for his games. He is also the arch-nemesis of Liam Plecak, though he believes him to be his friend.
He is voiced by Diamondcup67.
His Qualities[]
What Makes Him Entertaining[]
- Diamondcup67's performance is amazing considering how this is just an indie object show and not some kind of massive production.
- He is generally a very well-written villain who is a good example of what happens after you are left alone for so long, and despite many object shows just being jokes, Airy is actually one of the only characters in object show media who isn't just a tiny joke and is taken completely seriously.
- He is extremely tragic and sympathetic, as he was killed in a car crash and sent to the waiting room, where he was left there to guess numbers for years, until he finally ended up in a new universe, and was left alone for even more time, leading him to go insane.
- While his comedic moments don't detract from his villainy, and most come from season 1 when the series was less serious, they still are quite entertaining, examples include:
- Simply just saying "you are here to compete in my gameshow, ONE." everytime Bryce asked why they were at the plane.
- Saying "Hi..." when he is found by Backpack, and having the intro sequence play before it being interrupted by Liam as he screams at Airy.
- He is very affable to Liam, and even though he constantly screams at him he doesn't get angry atall, and simply just lives his life like usual.
- This is more shown when Liam finds out about season 3, and attempts to kill Airy with an axe, though fails and accidentally causes a tree to fall on his leg, instead of leaving him there, Airy decides to bring him back to the cabin and give him a cast.
- He is a very intelligent person, and is able to work the very complicated computer. While he does say the computer took him years to figure out, it's still very impressive in general.
- He is extremely calm and literally never gets angry once in the series.
What Makes Him Detestable[]
- Before kidnapping the main cast, he kidnapped 6 other objects, and was planning to do a show with them, and managed to continue this out, though this massively failed as he accidentally dropped a massive boulder on them, killing them all.
- While this was accidental, he doesn't seem to show any remorse for this.
- He kidnapped another 6 people, and later kidnapped another 12 people and forced them all to compete in his object show ONE, and even while most constantly wanted to get out, Airy didn't just send them back even if he had the power to, showing he is very incompetent.
- He is entirely oblivious to all of the torture he inflicts on his contestants, likely due to his incompetence, to the point where Amelia shouts at him and explains how vastly incompetent he is.
- He intended to create a third season of ONE, though due to being impaled on a stalagmite and dying, he was trapped back in the waiting room, to what appeared to be the plane to him, and wasn't able to create the third season.
