Aku is the main antagonist of the 2001 Cartoon Network/Adult Swim animated series Samurai Jack.

He is a ruthless, diabolical, and manipulative demon king, serving as the arch-nemesis of Samurai Jack, as well as the biological father of Ashi and her sisters.

In the first four seasons, he was voiced by the late Mako. In the fifth season and other media, he was voiced by Greg Baldwin, who also played Frank Fontaine in BioShock. As Ikra, he was voiced by Jennifer Martin.

What Makes Him Entertaining?

• His voice is iconically done by Mako and later Greg Baldwin, having a deep and menancing voice, while can occasionally changing into bombastic and hammy.
• He has many comedic moments in the series, ranging from telling children a story which paints him as the hero and Jack as the villain, ordering a henchman in the manner of ordering a pizza (and EXTRA THICC!), talking to a psychiatrist who is a clone of himself, and it's pretty memorable to the point where they became memes on the internet.
• He also has a cool design and cool powers, as the
• Aku is easily one of the most iconic villains within the Cartoon Network channel, due to his memorable lines and cool powers.

What Makes Him Detestable?

• He is ultimately the Embodiment of Evil, as he exists to cause misery around him, and he enjoys every second of it.
• In the beginning of the series, he ravaged the Emperor's kingdom and forced him to watch.
• He enslaved many humans in the empire.
• He is a completely evil being responsible for billions of deaths and much suffering in addition to causing the ruin of the world.
