Blitzo Buckzo, better known as Blitzø (pronounced 'Blitz'), is the titular protagonist of Helluva Boss. The founder of I.M.P., Blitzo is an assassin who offers Sinners a chance to kill humans still on Earth as a form of postmortem revenge.
He was voiced by Brandon Rogers in his normal voice, but by Michael Romeo Ruocco (During in Moxxie's Bad Trip only) when singing, he is voiced by Mason Blomberg as a kid.
His Qualities
What Makes Him Entertaining?
- Due to Helluva Boss being a black comedy, Blitzo has many comedic moments that quickly endear viewers to the character, and most serious scenes he has are scenes of sympathy, meaning his crimes are rarely taken seriously and hard to hate him over.
- As the protagonist, Blitzo is one of the most popular and well-known characters in the series due to people who feel sympathy for him and people who just find him fun to watch.
- He's incredibly sympathetic, as he accidentally lit a circus tent on fire as a kid, presumably killing his mom and scarring Fizzarolli, which he regrets deeply.
- He also has many sympathetic insecurities, and it's clear that beneath it all, he really just wants to be loved even though Blitzo believes that he doesn't deserve it.
- Overall, Blitzo is a well-rounded and complex character that shows that explores self-hatred in a fascinating and unique way.
What Makes Him Detestable?
- He's a massive pervert and creep to Moxxie and Millie, stalking them, sexually harassing them, and even threatening rape at one point. While it's unlikely the threat was serious, he still was acting very creepy towards the duo.
- In-universe, he's hated enough that there's an entire party thrown by his exes about hating him, which isn't exactly small, either. Most other characters tend to either dislike him or have mixed feelings on him due to his tendency to push other people away.
- He is an assasin who kills people for a living, and has a very high kill-count. some of his victims even include children.
- The show's comedic nature can lead to Blitzo making idiotic moves every once in a while, such as putting the Grimoire in a safe with the code "1234".
