Brian Moser, also known as the Ice Truck Killer and the NHI Killer, is the secondary antagonist of the Dexter franchise.
Brian is the older brother of Dexter Morgan, assumes the identity of Rudy Cooper, and begins stalking Dexter, also dating Dexter's adoptive sister Debra to get closer to him.
He is portrayed by Christian Camargo
What makes him entertaining?[]
- He has an extremely tragic and compelling backstory that makes him a foil to Dexter, who had to watch his mother get brutally murdered with a chainsaw in front of their eyes but unlike Dexter, he wasn't able to block out the traumatic experience of his mother's death. To make it worse, it was Harry's fault that his mother died right in front of him and he knows that Harry was having an affair with his mother. Plus, he suffered many different abuses in the foster care system. Plus, the horrific event gave Brian severe traumatic flashbacks when he was forced in a closet by one of his abusive foster-siblings. Even in the mental hospital, he was treated poorly of where Raul sold his drugs to a security guard and was lied to constantly that he would see his brother again. This ultimately caused him to snap when his Physician told him that Dexter was a trigger to him. Plus, his motive to reunite with Dexter is constantly played for sympathy.
- He is as intelligent (if not moreso) than Dexter, being how he is able to balance his double life of a prosthetics doctor and a serial killer almost seamlessly unlike Dexter, who is genuinely socially awkward and struggles to fit in without arousing suspicion from others (namely Doakes).
- He has numerous entertaining and memeworthy scenes like when he wittily answered Dexter's question with "electric chainsaw".
- He has a very noteworthy charm and charisma to him that attracts viewers to him.
- He is shown to be very athletic and physically capable, given how he dove 100 ft into the ocean to retrieve one of Dexter's victims, was able to strangle a prostitute and Debra, unconscious without struggle, quickly fled the scene of his attempted murder of Angel Batista without getting caught, and held his own against Dexter in combat (although Dexter was intentionally holding back) before successfully escaping the police.
- He can be considered the best antagonist in Dexter, as he has the closest relationship to Dexter being his older brother, with the only antagonist rivaling him being Arthur Mitchell.
What makes him detestable?[]
- He was always sadistic, even as a kid, he callously ripped the tails from reptiles.
- With no remorse whatsoever, he killed at least 15 prostitutes by turning them upside down with an electric- powered table, keeping them captive for hours and possibly days, and slitting their throats.
- Kidnapped Tony Tucci and tortured him by mutilating his left hand, right foot, and right leg.
- Killed Joe Driscoll (his own biological father) a man named Rudy Cooper, an old lady named Irma Holt, and beat a man named Fred to death.
- Attempted to force Dexter Morgan to kill Debra Morgan in order to keep him for himself and negate his code.
