“ | I am Chakravartin. It is I who keeps the wheels of this planet in motion... Now give me your hand, Redeemer Asura. Receive the Mantra's power and with it create a new world order! | „ |
~ Chakravartin attempting to manipulate Asura into joining him. |
Chakravartin is the god of Mantra and the overarching antagonist of Asura's Wrath. He is the archenemy of Asura.
In his true form, he was voiced by Hiroshi Ito in Japanese and Al Rodrigo in English. As the Golden Spider, he was voiced by Hiroshi Ōtake in Japanese and Joe Hanna in English.
His Qualities[]
What Makes Him Entertaining?[]
- Both Hiroshi Ito in the Japanese version and Al Rodrigo in the English version did a great job in voicing the character, capturing his calm, superior and confident manner of speaking.
- As Chakravartin, he has an incredibly majestic design, strongly referring to Buddhist-Hindu beliefs. As the Creator, his appearance becomes downright terrifying, being a black and white, skeleton-like creature with glowing red eyes.
- He is by far the most powerful character in the entire game, as he is a full-fledged god and creator of all mantra in the universe. His powers allow him to distort reality and destroy hundreds or even thousands of planets in an instant, without the slightest effort.
- He turned out to be an incredible manipulator responsible for the entire plot of the game, being able to successfully implement a huge, thousand-year plan related to the demigods and Gohma to not only regain his true form, but also discover the most worthy candidate for the ruler of the local universe, which turned out to be Asura.
- Most of the time, he was very composed and calm, only engaging in battle when provoked by Asura, and attempting to manipulate him into inheriting his rule over the universe.
- The entire final fight between Asura and Chakravartin was incredibly spectacular, taking place on an unimaginable scale and showing the full capabilities of both characters.
What Makes Him Detestable?[]
- Due to his unimaginable power and god complex, he considered himself a being above any morality, viewing it as a mere obstacle to his goals.
- He had absolutely no empathy or compassion, not caring at all about the fact that with his plans and "tests" for the demigods, he had ruined and destroyed thousands, millions, and even billions of innocent lives.
- To force Asura to surrender and become his successor, he kidnapped his daughter Mithra, whom he held hostage.
- His eternal calm and composure began to be shattered more and more by Asura's stubbornness and his inability to manipulate or defeat him, which ultimately resulted in Chakravartin's villainous breakdown, after which he furiously attacked Asura with only his bare fists.
- His death proved to be very satisfying, as the being who believed himself to be the only god in the universe was finally defeated by a loving father who harbored the limitless anger and fury that was the source of his power.
