List of rules on the Entertainingly Detestable Wiki that all users must abide by.
Unacceptable Actions
- Vandalism: Tarnishing pages will result in an infinite block, this can also include troll behavior, Edit Warring and Edit Spamming.
- Plagiarism: While the writing maybe somewhat similar, if it's an exact copy of written material that you did not write, the consequences will be severe.
- Harassment: Engaging in hostile or aggressive activity such as a message or edit warring will not be acceptable.
- Profanity doesn't go R-Rated: This wiki is meant to be seen for a wide audience and excessive profanity will be a risk of a ban.
- Trolls: Trolling is not tolerated here and will be handled with a block. In addition, do not interact with a troll. If a troll is on the wiki please report them to an administrator.
- Ban evasion and sockpuppetry: If a user is a blocked, they have been blocked for violating a rules on the wiki. If a user is found to have created an alternate account to circumvent or evade a ban, the puppet-master account will face an extended or permanent block and the sockpuppet account will receive a permanent blocked.
- Edit-war: If there is a disagreement over information an article, talk out the disagreement on one’s message walls or in the comment section to reach a resolution. Constant conflicting edits between users, will result in the page getting locked and the users getting blocked. In addition, if a user constantly adds and remove information from a page despite reasons from another user, without explaining their changes or using insufficient reasons for their edits, this user may face a block.
- Edit-spamming: Making multiple light edits on articles that could be done in one or few edits, adding a category per edit, and similar examples will be treated as edit-spam and the user may face a block.
- Recreating deleted pages without admin permission: When a page is deleted by an admin, it is deleted for a good reason. Please message an admin in order to recreate or restore a page. Recreating a deleted page without permission will result in the page being deleted.
- No polls to determine ED status: No polls on "Who is considered ED?" or "Is x ED?" or any iteration of these questions. Polls like these will be deleted. Users who recreate deleted polls or consistently make polls like this despite their deletion will also be blocked.
Content-Specific
- Criteria: Familiarize yourself with the criteria before making pages. A character must be very detestable in the story they appear in for their actions and characteristics while having entertaining qualities such as being cool, charming, highly intelligent, funny, or a combination of all these traits. Pages made on characters who do not follow the criteria will be deleted.
- Neutral tone and accurate information: While writing an article, use neutral tone on all parts of the article. Inappropriate use of cap-letters, bolded and/or colored text on an article will be removed. In addition, provide accurate and true information on the character.
- No pages on real-life people: This wiki only accepts fictional characters. Do not add pages on real life individuals. Adding a page on a real-life individual is considered slander and libel.
- Sufficient content: When making a page, it needs to have sufficient amount of information. Creating articles with little to no information, blank pages, or just an infobox/sentence/image/category section may face deletion on sight or deletion over time due to the lack of information. Consistently making pages with insufficient content may result in a block.
- New Categories: With the exception of categories on franchises, no new categories can be made without getting admin permission. If a category is created without admin permission, it will be deleted.
