Entertainingly Detestable Wiki

You have forgotten who you are. You truly think you are worthy to stand beside me, could be EQUAL to me? I made you in my image, but you have become an abomination. And so, you must be reborn.
~ Horde Prime to Hordak before wiping the latter's mind.
You miscalculated. I see all. I know all. You thought yourself worthy to challenge me, but you are nothing but a false hero, the last of the First Ones to fall at my hands. You have led your friends to destruction.
~ Horde Prime to Adora/She-Ra.

Horde Prime is the overarching antagonist of the Netflix original series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.

He is the emperor of the Galactic Horde and the genetic progenitor of Hordak. He is the arch-nemesis of Princess Adora/She-Ra.

He is voiced by Keston John.

His Qualities[]

What Makes Him Entertaining?[]

  • Horde Prime generally falls on the Love to Hate spectrum, as he has a variety of cool factors. For example:
    • His sick voice (thanks to the great performance by Keston John) with which he has a habit of speaking in a soft, affable and sophisticated manner that makes him both intimidating and charismatic.
    • His tall, elegant and intimidating, yet cool-looking character design.
    • His being the supreme commander of the Galactic Horde makes him incredibly influential and resourceful.
  • He is pretty intimidating towards his enemies, despite how hated he is because of his crimes.
  • During one of his cooling-off periods, he hosted a special dinner with Catra being one of his guests.
  • When Prime makes his debut, he is already the ruler of the universe for a long time, and keep it under control with a mix of iron fist and tactical actions that proved to be really useful. Indeed, his power was so immense even one thousand years ago that the First Ones tried to create a weapon that could destroy the universe if not used correctly to prevent Prime to conquer them, to show how powerful he was so long ago.
  • The final season shows how Prime, while not fighting directly, used actual strategy to take control over Etheria at a faster rate than Hordak: With Prime's clones and robots attacking while brainwashing key individuals and turning them in weapons to use at specific moments to defeat the heros. Even making Micah use dark magic with no mercy against his daughter was more because it would breack her will to figh the galactic horde than just the sadism of the fight itself..
  • He has a sick battle against Adora (also known as She-Ra) in the fifth and final season, thus making him partially responsible for Adora and Catra becoming a couple.

What Makes Him Detestable?[]

  • As the creator of the Galactic Horde, he conquered and destroyed many planets with their help.
  • He went on a war with the First Ones and wiped out most of them.
  • He is indirectly responsible for Hordak's creation of the Horde. Many years ago, Hordak was once his top general before he was banished to Etheria due to an error in his cloning. Because of this, Hordak tried to build his own empire and conquer it in order to prove his worth to him, making Prime indirectly responsible for his actions on Etheria.
    • However, this also makes him indirectly responsible for King Micah's exile to Beast Island and Angella's sacrifice, which she didn't know that her husband is still alive.
  • Despite Hordak having done everything to impress him, Prime wasn't impressed, gave him cruel verbal abuse and wiped out his mind before callously sending him to be "reconditioned".
  • He intended to destroy Etheria in order to cover up Hordak's embarrassing failure, only for him to change his mind when Catra mentioned that there's a Heart of Etheria.
  • He conquered Etheria with no absolute effort or mercy.
  • Using the dining room's giant screen to show Glimmer these footage of Etheria being attacked by his army to threaten her or give him the information he wants, which she did. He then ordered his soldiers to stand down because he learned from Glimmer that Adora/She-Ra is the only one capable of controlling the Heart of Etheria.
  • He mocked Catra for her feelings towards Adora and claims that she and the Etherians are alike.
  • He showed Glimmer his trophy collection, which he took from many planets he conquered, destroyed, and reshaped in his image.
  • He tried to convince Glimmer to find She-Ra by claiming that he wants her to use the Heart of Etheria to bring peace. When Glimmer points out that the whole universe will be destroyed if the heart was used, only for him to replied that it's precisely what he wants so he could rebuild the universe in his image. After Glimmer refused to help him, he sent her back to her cell.
  • Enraged that Catra helped Glimmer escape from his ship, he subjected her to the ritual and implanted a control chip behind her. He also brought chipped Catra to Adora just to taunt her.
  • He became more furious that Adora rescued Catra, he sets up a blockade around Etheria and brainwashed many people to fight on his side.
  • He attempted to use the Heart of Etheria to destroy the entire universe and remake it in his own image.
  • He treated his clones like nothing but his pawns and slaves for no particular reason. He also wouldn't allow them to have emotions and freedom rights, as shown when he was enraged upon finding out that Hordak has a name and found a purpose in his life before mind-wiping him.
  • He hacked into the Crystal Castle and infecting Adora with a virus to prevent her from becoming She-Ra.
  • He controlled the First One's security monster to attack Adora and Catra, but Shadow Weaver sacrificed herself to save both, making him indirectly responsible for the death of a fan-favourite character.
  • He ordered Hordak to kill Entrapta, which he responded by denouncing him as his brother and dropped him into the shaft.
  • He possessed Hordak and used him as his vessel to take Entrapta with him and used the Heart of Etheria to destroy the entire universe, including himself entirely.
  • Despite wanting to bring peace to the universe, it's nothing more than his twisted version of it.
  • He taunted Adora by proclaiming that there will be no future for her when he invaded her future vision where it was infected with his virus.
  • When he was confronted by She-Ra, he still won't give up or showing remorse for his crimes, gloated how invincible he is and promised he will rise again. But She-Ra then exorcizes Hordak to free him from his possession and destroyed him, giving him what he deserved.
  • Unlike other major villains such as Catra, Hordak, and Shadow Weaver, he lacks any sympathetic qualities whatsoever.

Trivia[]

  • He was originally considered to be a Hate Sink, but he was later deleted from that wiki due to being more of a "love to hate" villain than anything. Thus, he is now on this wiki.
