Huell Babineaux is a supporting character in the crime drama series Breaking Bad and its prequel series Better Call Saul. He is the personal bodyguard of Saul Goodman, providing him with services such as pickpocketing, security and intimidation.
He was portrayed by Lavell Crawford.
What Makes Him Entertaining?[]
- He has numerous comedic moments, including his amusing behavior and deadpan humor, which have spawned many internet memes:
- Correcting Jimmy about an exact time of 1 hour and 43 minutes during a court trial.
- Saying he is "reasonably" happy.
- Resting on Walter White's stockpile of money.
- Being stuck in the safehouse for supposedly the rest of his life.
- He is a master pickpocket, which is always useful for underhanded schemes.
- He slips a battery into Chuck's pocket, proving that his electromagnetic hypersensitivity is not real.
- Along with Man Mountain, he captures and terrifies a trio of juvenile delinquents into submission for mugging Jimmy.
- He is confirmed to have been released from the safehouse and moved back to New Orleans as a free man, making him a Karma Houdini.
What Makes Him Detestable?[]
- Although it can come off as hilarious, sometimes he shows himself to be quite stupid. A good example is when he assaults a man arguing with Jimmy and fails to hear Jimmy's warnings that the man is a police officer because of listening to loud music on his headphones.
- He showed no remorse for helping Walt poison Brock Cantillo, even if he was initially unaware.
