Pennywise the Dancing Clown, also known as It, is the main antagonist of 1990 miniseries It based on the Stephen King book of the same name. He is the archenemy of Bill Denbrough and the Losers Club.
His Qualities[]
What makes Him Entertaining?[]
- While Pure Evil, he displays several comedic moments such as:
- "Excuse me, sir! Do you have Prince Albert in a can? You do? Well, you better let the poor guy out!"
- And this goes on as Richie attempts to talk to the librarian about seeing Mike, while Pennywise, just around on the upper floor, is drowning out Richie as much as he can with the goofiest smile on his face, before culminating in him yelling in an outrageously hammy tone: "GET OUT!"
- Asking the Losers Club how their sex life is
- Telling Ben, "kiss me, fat boy."
- Sticking his thumb out
- His first defeat in part one where he performs a cartwheel
- Asking Beverly "don’t you want it?"
- "Excuse me, sir! Do you have Prince Albert in a can? You do? Well, you better let the poor guy out!"
- He is meant to be a hated character but his comedic nature makes him a fan favorite.
- He killed Henry Bowers's friends, Victor "Vic" Criss and Reginald "Belch" Huggins, which fans cheered at him for.
- Tim Curry’s performance is considered to be arguably his most iconic role, second only to Darkness from Legend.
What Makes Him Detestable?[]
- He killed several people including Georgie, Bill’s younger brother, Bill's long-time friend Eddie Kaspbrak and many kids etc.
- He killed a night guard while in the form of a doberman pinscher to break Henry Bowers out of Juniper Hills mental asylum, leading Henry to attack Mike and almost murder him prior to accidentally stabbing his own chest.
- He caused Stan to commit suicide out of fear.
