~ K. Rool during his song "No Ones Gonna Make a Monkey Out of Me". |
King K. Rool or simply K. Rool is the main antagonist of the Donkey Kong Country Cartoon series, which is based off the Donkey Kong Country video game series. He is the tyrannical king of the Kremlings, the self-made monarch of the Kremling Krew, and the persistent archenemy of Donkey Kong and his family of Kongs.
He was voiced by Benedict Campbell.
What Makes Him Entertaining?[]
- He is an extremely funny and hammy villain who steals the show every time he appears.
- His alphabetized lists of insults are extremely fun (as well as hilarious) to watch.
- His voice performance is a blast to listen to.
- He is not completely irredeemable, because he sometimes showed affability towards the Kongs and even honored the truce between the lizards and apes during the Kongo Bongo Festival of Lights.
- He is warm-hearted despite being cold-blooded, such as the time he shows a soft spot for babies in the episode "Baby Kong Blues".
- He tends to be extremely easy to laugh at, due to acting like a short-tempered manchild in most of the scenes, as well as because of how expressive, bumbling and flamboyant he is.
What Makes Him Detestable?[]
- He is a bossy Smug Snake tyrant who expects a little too much from his Kremling army, and is often very pompous, bombastic, ballistic and tends to be an obnoxious manchild who acts like he's smarter than everyone when some of his plans aren't as foolproof and flawless as he thinks.
- He tends to lash his anger onto his subjects rather verbally and demeans them for their failed attempts to steal the coconut.
- He sunked Kongo Bongo into the ocean, and framed Donkey Kong over something K. Rool did.
- Overall, he is extremely egoistical, abusive, overconfident and arrogant to everyone around him.
