Mandy is one of the three eponymous main protagonists of The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.
A cynical, merciless and cold-hearted little girl, Mandy dreams of one day being able to rule the world with an iron fist. Her best friend, Billy, is the complete opposite of her, being happy-go-lucky and dim-witted but still compassionate by contrast.
Her Qualities[]
What Makes Her Entertaining?[]
- While much of the series portrays her as a villain, she still has partaken in several admittedly admirable deeds. Such as helping Billy save Mr. Snuggles' soul in "Meet the Reaper", come up with a plan to defeat Jack O'Lantern and his pumpkin army in "Billy & Mandy's Jacked Up Halloween", saving the neighborhood from Evil Con Carne with Billy's help in "Company Halt", and even teaming up with Mindy to stop Velma Green's spider army in "Wrath of the Spider Queen".
- In spite of generally being portrayed as a cold and chillingly remorseless, she still has numerous moments of comedy (which is to be expected given how The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy is primarily a darkly comedic show), most notably her appearances in several intros before each episode making pop culture references.
- In spite of how cruelly she generally treats him, she does genuinely care for Billy and Grim, with Mandy herself often being the first to take initiative to save the former when the going gets tough. With "Billy & Mandy's Big Boogey Adventure" being the biggest example of showcasing this, where she's left on the verge of tears upon believing Billy had been killed by the Kraken and is the first to take action after a Spider-Clown Mailman is created by Horror's hand based on Billy's greatest fears.
- The fact that she still has respect for people like Hoss Delgado (mainly owing to how he's the protagonist of President Evil, her favorite game), Jeff the Spider (whom she refuses to kill unlike Billy), Mrs. Doolin (especially after finding out she beat Grim several times) and Pan-dora (prior to the latter's betrayal) proves she does have a sense of honor. She was even willing to give Mindy her position as the cheerleader captain back in "The Wrongest Yard" in spite of how much she hates her.
- While normally a cosmic-level narcissist, "My Fair Mandy" shows that she does have insecurities that are played for sympathy after being called ugly by her archrival Mindy.
- Her cruelty and villainy is so over-the-top and played heavily for black comedy that while it's upsetting, it's also just hilarious to watch.
What Makes Her Detestable?[]
- She usually treats Grim absolutely horribly. Often verbally abusing him and treating him as nothing but a servant. And she often doesn't treat Billy that much better.
- Later seasons have her losing much of the sympathy she once had and frequently feature episodes that have her becoming cruel and selfish for absolutely no reason at all, not to mention her becoming much less likable and able to enjoy in her actions. As she would now resort to actions such as brainwashing the entire population of Endsville (Scary Poppins), destroying much of the town after being turned into a giant (The Incredibly Shrinking Mandy), and turning the KND into a dictatorship to conquer the multiverse (The Grim Adventures of KND).
