Mukuro Ikusaba is a major antagonist in the Danganronpa franchise. She is titled the Ultimate Soldier and is a member of the Ultimate Despair, a heavily destructive terrorist organisation in the franchise. She is the older twin sister of Junko Enoshima.

In the original Japanese version, she is voiced by Megumi Toyoguchi. In the English dub she is voiced by Amanda Celine Miller (Games) and Jaimie Marchi (Anime).

What Makes Her Entertaining?

• To get the elephant out of the room, Mukuro Ikusaba has became a meme on the internet in the early 2010s, when Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc was new. Thanks to Kyoko Kirigiri's line "Mukuro Ikusaba, the sixteenth student lying hidden somewhere in this school. The one they call the Ultimate Despair. Watch out for her," she gained popularity.
• She has a rather endearing character design and she is deemed to be attractive by fans.
• She is a competent fighter which fits her Ultimate Soldier talent. In the anime, she has a pretty cool fight with Peko Pekoyama.
• In the anime, she has a soft-spoken voice that is pleasant to hear. In fact, she was later shown to has a nice singing voice in the seventh episode of the spinoff anime, Danganronpa 3: End of Hope's Peak High School.
• She genuinely loves her sister Junko, is willing to do anything she asks even if it hurts her, and would protect her from harm despite everything she has done to her. She is visibly shown to be heartbroken when Junko betrays her.
• She is also in love with Makoto Naegi because he was the first person to ever smile at her, and protects him in Danganronpa Zero and in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. This relationship is also well-received by some fans.

What Makes Her Detestable?

• She easily stands out in the astronomically high heinous standards of her franchise.
  • She brutally murdered an entire middle school.
  • She helped her sister start the Killing School Life.
  • She lobotomised Chisa Yukizome while she without any anesthetics, therefore causing her intense pain.
