Porky Minch is one of two main antagonists of the EarthBound/Mother video game franchise. He is the former next door neighbor and best friend of Ness who ended up becoming a power hungry tyrant obsessed with destroying the world.
His Qualities[]
What Makes Him Entertaining?[]
- His petty childish insults are funny, especially when he is in the body of an old man.
- While being funny, he also manages to be genuinely horrifying at the same time and even sticks out as one of the most disturbing Nintendo villains of all time.
- Despite being Pure Evil, he has a genuine tragedy where he was abused by his greedy parents and Ness was his only friend growing up, leading him to feel ostracized from his best friend. He is played sympathetically in the when Japanese version when he cries because Ness says nothing when he asks to be friends again. This leads to various speculations that he could be a product of his own environment or simply a Pure Evil narcissist.
What Makes Him Detestable?[]
- He is extremely egotistical, with these traits only being amplified worse by the time he is a tyrant in the future. This reaches the point where he builds statues of himself plans to destroy the world until everybody who does not like him is dead.
- He has committed a multitude of horrific crimes like attempted omnicide, mass slavery and even personal ones like creating the Chimera that killed Lucas and Claus' mother then turned Claus into a mindless cyborg who would kill himself..
- He is a huge jerk and kick the dog sadist who constantly taunts his enemies. He is even not above mocking Luca about his dead family.
- His obsessive fixation on Ness reaches disturbing levels as even before becoming a villain, he would threaten him with a knife for not going out with him.
