Pythor P. Chumsworth is a secondary antagonist of the LEGO Ninjago series. He is the last survivor of the Anacondrai clan who sough revenge on humanity for locking the Serpentine underground. After cheating death, he resurfaced several times, acting as both an enemy and an ally to the Ninja.
He is voiced by Michael Dobson.
His Qualities[]
What Makes Him Entertaining?[]
- In spite of how heinous he is, he is too comedic and charismatic to be a Hate Sink, especially in Tournament of the Elements where he is mocked for his minuscule size multiple times.
- He had multiple designs over the course of the series, most of which many fans consider great.
- He truly respects his kind to the point where he helps the heroes bring Master Chen and his cult down for defiling their legacy, which saved Ninjago from Chen's invasion.
- He is very intelligent and is (mostly) a good strategist:
- When he first met Lloyd, in order to take the map to the other Serpentine tombs, he took advantage of his insecurities about not having friends and wanting to be evil, by claiming that he "will always be loyal to him" and helped him until he got the chance to take his map for himself, putting his plan of freeing The Great Devourer in action.
- Throughout Rise of the Snakes he planned to free The Great Devourer, succeding in getting all of the Fangblades and freeing her (although this backfired on him). He also outsmarted the Ninja a few times most notably when he made a trap for the Ninja in order to capture them so they would not stop him to free The Great Devourer and The Ninja only escaped from being killed by being dragged down into a pool of acid thanks to Lloyd, Garmadon and the Skulkin coming to their rescue.
- When the Ninja got all of the Fangblades and believed that they won, he snuck aboard their ship while invisible and took advantage of the Ninja trying to save Wu from falling to his death by stealing the Fangblades and managing to escape.
- He helped The Overlord in his plans by stealing the hard drive that contained him so he can reactivate him and used Electro-Cobrai in order to activate the Nindroids, being overall necessary for his plans.
- He always manages to escape certain death and come back to haunt the ninja, such as in Rise of the Snakes, where he got all of the Fangblades and escaped the Ninja by landing on a helicopter driven by Skales.
- When he actually chooses to fight, he can be counted on to provide energetic battle scenes. This is seen in Crystalized where he fought Nya and Skylor, almost managing to defeat Nya until the MiniPix arrived.
What Makes Him Detestable?[]
- In his quest for revenge, he released the Great Devourer so that she would destroy all of Ninjago, allied with the Overlord, who intended to corrupt the realm, twice and assisted Master Yang in his plan to regain his physical form by fighting Lloyd with the intent to kill the Green Ninja.
- He is heavily implied to have eaten members of his tribe. While it could be justified as him being desperate to survive, there are hints that he practices cannibalism as a hobby, not to mention he is willing to eat humans as well.
- In spite of being a decent fighter, he is a coward and prefers to run away from danger.
- Has no remorse for any of his crimes and enjoys to taunt his targets while they are down.
