Most Detestable Traits	Being extremely malicious, cruel, and unreasonable. Hurting Radagast's defenseless animals for no reason. Torturing Frodo and Pippin with his magic for kicks.

His Qualities

What Makes Him Entertaining?

• He is an incredibly iconic character as the main villain of the highly-successful Middle-earth franchise. Alongside Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars, he is a major codifier of the "Dark Lord" archetype.
• He is a fascinating and beautiful creature comprised of supernatural fire and primordial darkness who spends every moment on screen being "Evil is Cool" incarnate. The dude cannot open his mouth without uttering some kind of an iconic line ("I see you," "Build me an army worthy of Mordor," "Death will come to all," "The time of man is over," "You will serve me for all eternity," among others).
• His coolness is such that he can wipe out dozens of soldiers with a few hits from his mace and smother Gandalf with amorphous black energies.
• He is an extremely brilliant mastermind who built the rings to balance the systems of power without anyone knowing he had one particular ring connecting them like a hive mind, hence the One Ring, with which he intended to rule over all.
• Basically most if not every other villain in the saga can be tied back to him in some way as he spectacularly arches over and humbles them all.

What Makes Him Detestable?

• He is a wholly evil being without any redeeming qualities whatsoever, one who wants nothing more than to reign as god over everybody and will take any immoral course of action to accomplish this.
• He is a huge sadist who tortured Frodo Baggins and Pippin Took just because he could, taunted Aragorn with Arwen's predicament just to be petty, and messed with Radagast's animals because he thought it was funny.
• He is so narcissistic that he can't tell Hobbits apart even though Pippin looks nothing like Frodo.
