Snively Robotnik is Dr. Robotnik's nephew and the secondary antagonist of the 1993 DiC animated series Sonic the Hedgehog, commonly referred to as SatAM. He is a maniacal, power-hungry tyrant hellbent on overthrowing his overly abusive uncle Julien Robotnik and destroying the Freedom Fighters (especially Sonic the Hedgehog) to plot his own world domination over Mobius.
He was voiced by Charlie Adler.
Their Qualities[]
What Makes Them Entertaining?[]
- He is a cunning, manipulative, scheming bastard who constantly attempts taking over Robotropolis by getting rid of his totalitarian uncle and has come closer to succeeding than him, although he is easier to defeat than him due to his tiny size.
- He almost defeated the Knothole Freedom Fighters in the episode No Brainer when a memory scrambler temporarily erases Sonic's memory, allowing Snively to brainwash him and use him to find the secret hideout of his group of Freedom Fighters, Knothole Village, actually finding it (unlike Robotnik). He almost succeeded in neurologically paralyzing the Knothole Freedom Fighters, had it not been for the effects of the memory scrambler wearing off and Sonic regaining his memory, using the memory scrambler to put Snively into a fugue state and brainwashing him into changing the coordinates of Knothole Village to the Great Swamp, the effects wearing off after attacking Dr. Robotnik and getting knocked off him.
- Unlike Dr. Robotnik, who likes to toy around with Sonic and the other Freedom Fighters for pure sadistic pleasure, Snively's plans would be to outright kill them as quickly as possible, something that would more likely have succeeded than the former's plans.
- He has some comedic moments, such as when he tortures Antoine by improperly cooking crepes by using too much batter and using margarine instead of butter for escargot.
What Makes Them Detestable?[]
- Just like his uncle, he also is joyous over the suffering of others, having great enthusiasm over roboticizing the creatures of Mobius and has no qualms over polluting the environment and committing mass ecocide.
