Suguru Geto is the main antagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and a deuteragonist of the Hidden Inventory arc of Jujutsu Kaisen. He was once the best friend of Satoru Gojo before he took to killing his home village to save two young sorcerers.
What makes him Entertainable[]
- Overall, he is written as a complex and tragic villain whose misanthropic, supremacist nature arises from all of the things that he has gone through in his life.
- Firstly, he was forced to witness Riko Amanai's death right in front of him by Toji's gun.
- When trying to avenge Amanai by killing Toji, he gets defeated and nearly killed by him, even while using his strongest cursed spirits against him.
- After that battle, he became severely depressed and isolated from others made no better by Satoru Gojo not paying attention to his depressive spiral while he gets stronger.
- Seeing the Star-Plasma cult cheering at the corpse of Riko further disillusioned Geto about his initial duty to protect nonsorcerers, rendering his initial values and morals as null and void, causing him to spiral even further to the point of where he lacks any will to live and is confused about his life when meeting Yuki for the first time.
- While his act of massacring his home village is heinous, his reasoning is still somewhat well-intentioned as he saved two young sorcerers from persecution by nonsorcerers as him watching people from the village mistreating those two girls is the straw that broke the camel's back.
- His death by Gojo's hand in JJK0 is played for sympathy as despite Geto still loathing nonsorcerers, he admits that he holds no resentment towards the people that he fought (except for Maki because of Toji), even Yuta. He also admits that he was never able to feel any kind of genuine happiness because of all that he's been through as well as how Jujutsu society (and the world as a whole) is. Even Yuta after his battle against Geto realizes that he was Gojo's one and only best friend when he asks Gojo to give Yuta's ID back to him.
- Unlike most other antagonists, Geto is genuinely affable to most people (except for nonsorcerers), friend or foe alike.
- Unlike Kenjaku (who essentially does what he does for the evulz and is a serial-rapist) and Sukuna (who is a horrifically sadistic cannibal), Geto lacks the sadism and has genuinely good intentions despite his xenophobia and can be considered as an antivillain and a well-intentioned extremist because of all that he's been through in his life.
- He has numerous comedic moments in the series that lighten the mood of the series during the Hidden Inventory arc with Gojo and Shoko and even some comedic moments in JJK0.
- His charisma adds a certain charm to his character that makes him appealing to watch.
- Despite it being kind of downplayed throughout the series through Kenjaku, Geto's sorcery is still impressive for his arc, being able to outsmart his opponents in physical combat and sorcery and was able to keep up with Yuta enhanced by Rika's cursed energy and is able to think quickly. Plus, he was able to keep up with Gojo in power during the Hidden Inventory arc and worked alongside Gojo on missions.
What makes him Detestable[]
- Despite all of his good intentions, he is still a xenophobe and a supremacist, viewing sorcerers as being above regular humans and even going as far as to dub regular humans as "monkeys", even going as far as to spray a deodorant to get rid of the "monkey smell".
- His most infamous act is brutally slaughtering 100+ people in his home village using his cursed technique, albeit it was to save two kids who were getting tortured by their fellow villagers.
- He smugly insulted Maki for being the Zenin clan's biggest failure and also dubbed her as a monkey.
- He declared war against Jujutsu society and sent a thousand cursed spirits to Tokyo.
- He nearly killed Maki, Panda, and Toge and they all would have died if it wasn't for Yuta healing them with reverse cursed technique.
- He tried to kill Yuta to steal Rika for himself to achieve his plan of eradicating all non-sorcerers, making him an genocidal and omnicidal maniac.
